As a coach
My coaching in hammer throwing is not rich. But the success of my students in 1 month of training convinces me that I am good at it.
Zakhar 1 week progressiaon
This is Zakhar. In one week he learnt to feel the tension and make 2 turns. We emphasised understanding the hammer throw technique and practised turns. Lots of turns.
This is Sasha. Sergei Litvinov's daughter. She hit her right foot after the first turn, causing her initial speed and tension to be lost. We've been working on smoothness.
Working on Sasha's turns smooth
Nastya's progression
This is Nastya. She had a broken plane. In a fortnight we have been able to make good progress, there is a healthy radius that can be controlled.
Learning how to make turns and understanding the tension, physics of hammer throwing was the main goal we had in mind.
We learnt to turn on one leg, to make turns with the hammer at slow speed.
As Sergey Litvinov used to say, "If you can't turn beautifully slowly, you will never learn to throw fast".
Learning to understand the physics of the hammer.
As an athlete
From Litvinov I learnt a good technique that Soviet hammer throwers used.
They had a really good understanding of technique.
We spent a lot of time on correct tension, rhythm, radius and much more.

I learnt this from a very young age, as Litvinov was my first hammer throw coach.

Here's my progression.
From 2018 to 2021 I took a break, but in 2021 I came back and immediately my knee problems started. After the 2022 season, I had two surgeries from which I never recovered.
The 2021/2022 season was the best result. Here are a few of my training throws.
And this is my best technical attempt I believe. Unfortunately, I lost that movement after the covid.
Litvinov taught me good technique. This allowed me to reach 75 metres in a relatively small build (I was 180 cm tall and rarely weighed more than 95 kg and I set my PB at 92kg).
My strength performance were also modest.
But that didn't stop me from competing against those who were 15-20cm taller than me.
Thanks to technique, I used my strength to throw rather than to counter technical errors.
And lastly, a few of my best throws at the competition.
First time 75+ throw (75.22)
Personal Best (75.38)
Russian Championship (74.36)
What benefit will you get?
I'm sure I'll be a valuable addition to your team.
